The TIAA-CREF Institute, in cooperation with NACUBO, presented this conference which was tailored to colleges and universities with endowments of less than $200 million. Attendees included chief financial officers, senior investment officers, treasurers, and university foundation officers. This seminar included discussion on:

  • The "spending crisis" resulting from negative investment returns and bloated budgets
  • Highlights from the 2002 NACUBO Endowment Study with further analysis of data from institutions with smaller endowments
  • How to manage endowments with little or no investment staff
  • Suggestions for enhancing institutions’ planned giving programs
  • Insights for portfolio structure and the outlook for financial markets
