Plan Review & Reporting Services
- Plan Reviews
These comprehensive reports provide an at-a-glance display of whether retirement plans are achieving their goals and serving the needs of employees. They help plan sponsors evaluate a range of plan data including plan design features, enrollment and participation trends, contribution and accumulation trends, investment and asset classes held, demographics, transaction activity and benchmarking.
- Investment Reviews
For clients who have an investment policy statement or those who proactively monitor the investments in their retirement plans, this service provides objective monitoring of investment performance. The review includes all investments TIAA-CREF administers for the plan—both proprietary and nonproprietary, if applicable.
- Financial Reporting and Audit Support
TIAA-CREF offers a number of financial reporting and audit support services. These include a comprehensive plan financial reporting package and audit support services, pro forma 5500 financial schedules, if applicable, and, based on the plan sponsor’s election, a signature-ready Form 5500.
In addition, two versions of the Plan Sponsor Reporting & Audit Guide — one for qualified plans and the other for 403(b) plans — are available on the secure section of this web site. The guides provide information on reporting requirements, guidance on TIAA-CREF's plan financial reports and their use, and reporting information related to TIAA-CREF's investments; and, in the 403(b) version, what TIAA-CREF is doing to prepare for the first-year audits. For clients subject to an audit, TIAA-CREF provides industry-standard audit support services, an annual Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70), and supporting documentation for sample transactional testing to equip plan sponsors and support the independent audit of the plan’s financials.
