Volunteerism
Opportunity for growth was one of the greatest appeals to me about TIAA-CREF when I joined the company in 2000; however, at the time I had no idea how rewarding my career would be. I started by helping individual investors find financial solutions, then went on to train new employees who were hired to do the same. Now I manage marketing efforts that inform and educate thousands of participants at a time. I have learned an incredible amount about myself and about managing my finances.

My life has been enriched in so many ways working at TIAA-CREF that I feel it is only right to give back to the community by participating in company-sponsored volunteer projects. My favorite volunteer activity is the Courage to Succeed program, through which I teach financial literacy to high school students alongside a number of colleagues.
