Our History: One of history’s greatest philanthropists, Andrew Carnegie, believed in using his wealth to serve the greater good. In 1918, the Carnegie Corporation of New York granted $1 million to start Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA). TIAA established the College Retirement Equities Fund (CREF), the first variable annuity, in 1952. This led to the organization known today as TIAA-CREF.

Institutional Businesses: Support for academic, not-for-profit and medical institutions encompassing plan administrator tools, consultative guidance and products and services that deliver the best total value for them and for their employees’ retirement.

Asset Management: Works with private individuals to design a personalized investment strategy with annual reviews and ongoing support from a Portfolio Manager.
