Marta Tienda, 61, has been the Maurice P. During ’22 Professor in Demographic Studies at Princeton University since 1999, where she joined the faculty as Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs in 1997. From 2010 to 2011, she was a research fellow at New York University Center for Advanced Research in Social Sciences. Dr. Tienda is on the boards of the Jacobs Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She is also a member of the visiting committee at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and a member of the National Key Indicators Commission and the President’s Advisory Commission on Education Excellence for Hispanics. She recently resumed service as an advisor to the Stanford University Center for the Study of Poverty and Inequality. She earned a B.A. from Michigan State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Tienda provides expertise in the areas of marketing, demographic studies and sociology.
