TIAA-CREF Names Marvin Adams Head of Technology & Operations

TIAA-CREF today announced the appointment of Marvin Adams to head the company’s Technology & Operations.
Mr. Adams’ responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s information technology and operations functions, leading IT strategy and policy, and integrating technology and operational initiatives to advance quality client service. He succeeds Cara L. Schnaper, who is leaving the company.

Ferguson, Jr., the company’s president and CEO. “Marv has nearly 30 years’ experience leading information technology, corporate strategy, and integration and process-engineering initiatives at Fortune 100 companies. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an exceptional ability to create innovative processes and partnerships that improve quality and generate bottom-line results.”
Mr. Adams joined TIAA-CREF in January as senior vice president, business integration from Fidelity Investments, where he was president of shared services and responsible for enterprise transformation. Previously, he served as chief information officer for Citigroup, Bank One Corporation and Ford Motor Company, as well as an advisor to the technology venture group at Warburg Pincus. He began his career at IBM and Xerox.
Mr. Adams holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University.
