If you want to change your address on fewer than all contracts, or if you wish to enter a foreign address, please call a TIAA-CREF consultant at 800 842-2252 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET).
If you would like to change the address to which income payments are being sent, these types of changes must be processed by mail. Letters should be mailed to:

When I change the address on one of my accounts, does it affect the address listed for my other accounts? Address changes are made according to the type of accounts that you currently own and the Social Security number (SSN) associated with the accounts. When you change the address on one of your accounts, it changes the address for all the accounts registered under that SSN; however, Retail Class Mutual Funds, and Life Insurance policy changes may need to be updated separately. If you own any of these type of accounts, please call a TIAA-CREF consultant at 800 842-2252 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET) to update your contact information. If you have family members with accounts registered under a separate SSN, you will need to update these accounts separately.
I was recently married; how can I change my name? Participants can change their name by downloading and completing a Notice of Change of Name (PDF), or by writing a letter to TIAA-CREF that includes the following:
- Previous name (printed or typed) and previous signature
- New name (printed or typed) and new signature
- Social Security Number or the Contract Number
Note: Supporting documentation is required to effect a name change. Supporting documentation could be one of the following (Marriage License, Divorcee decree, Adoption, Court Order) a copy of the court document will be sufficient proof to process a name change.

If you own a Retail Class Mutual Fund account, you will need to complete a new application to change the registration on your account. In addition to the revised application, also include a letter of instruction stating the change of name and a signature in both your former and new name with a signature guarantee by an official bank representative who can verify your signature to one that is on file.
