STEP 1: Authorize your paycheck deductions

One or more plans available to you require you to authorize a Salary Reduction through Wolverine Access. Completion of this online form will authorize the University of Michigan to withhold the requested amount from your paycheck for deposit into your TIAA-CREF account.

STEP 2: Establish your TIAA-CREF account

Have the following information available:

  • Your investment allocation amounts/percentages for your investment choices.
  • Your Social Security number.
  • Your beneficiary's Social Security number, birth date and address.
